Privacy Policy

We at PROTECTA Insurance New Zealand Limited are very conscious of our requirements and obligations under the Privacy Act.

We will not disclose any confidential customer information to a third party unless specifically authorised to do so (for example, during the processing of a claim).  You can rest assured that appropriate security levels are consistently maintained.  We use external consultants to regularly perform audits to ensure we are adhering to best practice guidelines for technology and procedures.  

We work closely with our business partners and underwriters to maintain the security and integrity of all information held, and we are very aware of the fact that the maintenance of client confidentiality is of utmost importance and is the cornerstone of our success.

Online Credit Card Security

To process a credit card transaction, you will be asked to provide the following information: Credit Card number, date of Credit Card expiration, Cardholder name, Security Code, and then confirm the amount of transaction.

This cardholder information is entered directly into a secure, encrypted payments web page for authentication. This payments page is hosted by DPS (Direct Payment Solutions) who provide an encrypted electronic payment service that is certified as secure by both VISA and Mastercard.

Upon authentication by the bank, DPS provides back to PROTECTA Insurance an authorisation number, card type, card name and a ‘truncated’ card number.

PROTECTA Insurance does not hold or store your full Credit Card number at any stage.
